Jax Review - The Certainty of Chance

Jax Review - The Certainty of Chance

Book: The Certainty of Chance
Author: @jaxmiddleton_author
Genre: Holiday Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let me tell you about my favorite holiday read, The Certainty of Chance !

But first, a back story! I stumbled upon @jaxmiddleton_author in the comment section of a random post. I thought to myself, “Hey! Another Jax, how exciting!” Clicked on her profile to learn she’s a Jacquelyn (like me) and spells it the same way (which never happens). Immediately wanted to order a book of hers and was sold the second I saw she had a Christmas novel.

Now, onto the book! This was perfection! Truly, I couldn’t put it down. I stayed up WAY past my bedtime to finish this and proceeded to text my book people in the dead of night about how happy this made my heart and how my face hurt from smiling.

The book takes place in London during the holidays and let me tell you, Jacquelyn does an unbelievable job of making you feel like you are there. Having never been to London (holidays or no holidays), I felt like I got to experience it right alongside our main characters. I've also already looked up flight prices and have added London in December to my bucket list!

The Certainty of Chance is swoon-worthy and heartbreaking all at the same time. We have two delightful main characters, Madeleine and Julian, who are so relatable it's delicious. I adored them individually. I adored their relationship. I especially adored watching them navigate their hard feelings and show up for one another. We have even more incredible side characters! I must must must get more of Michah and Natasha's stories!

In short - I laughed, I cried, I screamed into a pillow, and I loved every second of this book. I'm looking forward to reading Jacquelyn's entire backlist now!
