Megs Review: All The Light We Cannot See

Megs Review: All The Light We Cannot See

Book: All The Light We Cannot See
Author: Anthony Doerr
Genre: Historical Fiction
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Please don’t come for me! It was just...ok. The writing itself and the description of locations were beautiful, emotional, and poetic and set a stunning scene. But the story was kind of flat for me in the first 2/3 of the book. I kept waiting for, wanting, more and it didn’t happen until the end. In talking to others who have read this book, they all say the end is amazing, and it was! But that doesn’t make the first parts better. I used to exclusively read historical fiction so I know it’s not the genre. I would read more from Anthony Doerr, because the writing on its own is OUTSTANDING, but this particular story as a whole just didn’t do it for me.
